Sunday Adult Forum – 9-9:45 am, Fellowship HallWe are discussing “Hot Topics” and for the next few weeks we’ll be focused on Gender Based Violence and Capital Punishment & Abortion.  We will be looking at how our ELCA has responded to these concerns with Social Statements, Social Messages and Advocacy and exploring our own thoughts and experiences, as well.  All are welcome!

 

Sunday School - All Kids Invited!  9 am - Preschool through 6th Grade using a new and interactive curriculum called “Dig: The Bible in One Year.” Youth – 9am - Grades 7-12 join us in the Youth Room for discussion, fellowship and prayer.

 

 

4th  Tuesday DinnerChurch

THIS TUESDAY - 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall

DinnerChurch is a blending of meals - the meal where our Lord Jesus is both host and food for our souls and the meal in which we break bread together in fellowship to feed our bodies. DinnerChurch is a unique worship experience focusing on the scripture text from the previous Sunday.

 

Continue your Lenten Journey on Wednesdays during Lent

Soup & Stories - Wednesdays, 7 pm - 2/28 - (3/7 – One Wednesday) - 3/14 & 3/21 - Join Pastor Lynn for a light meal and a series of conversations around the history (and future!) of Lutherans in America.  Having just celebrated the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, we’ll look at four centuries of planting the Lutheran Church from Germany (and other countries) to this ‘new’ land and consider the question, “where does the Lutheran church go from here?”

 

 

Men’s Breakfast – March 3 at 8:30 am -  All men are invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall for good food, conversation, and fellowship. RSVP: A sign up sheet is available in the Narthex. Please let us know you are coming so we know how much food to prepare.

 

LYO (Grades 7-12)  Sunday, March 11 – 6:30 pm - Meet us at Laser Tag at ShadowLands Laser Adventure located at 4300 Chantilly Shopping Center - Please eat dinner BEFORE you come. We plan to play two games and have some snacks – bring $20 to cover the outing. 24th Annual Women’s Retreat - April 6-8 at Hallowood Retreat Center located in Dickerson, MD – This is the Retreat about NOTHING - Beginning with 7 pm dinner on Friday, returning home by Sunday lunch. Well, it’s not really about totally NOTHING, but an exciting new approach to the women’s retreat. Many have asked for the retreat to have a service element built into the weekend and more time to just relax and get away from the bustle of Northern Virginia. There will be optional activities and time to just do what you want alone or with friends. Check out the facility at www.hallowood.org. Men’s Retreat - April 13th - 15th at Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp located in Fort Valley, VA - We will help maintain and update their grounds - The retreat is for men of all ages, from high school age young men to more experienced retired men, and all men in between. And we welcome any men that you would like to invite. Cost: $125 – More info can be found in your February Connection Newsletter. RSVP: Sign up via the KOK website or on the Narthex Kiosk. 

 

Vacation Bible School - Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus - July 9th - 13th - 9am - 12pm - Registration will begin March 1st for Preschool through Rising 6th Graders! Join us as we find out that when life gets stormy Jesus rescues us!

 

Special Needs Vacation Bible School - Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus - July 16th - 20th - Choose One Session: Either 9am - 12pm (including lunch) OR 5pm - 8pm (including dinner) Join us as we find out that when life gets stormy Jesus rescues us! Registration will begin April 1st  for kids of all ages.
